The “Muruvvat” facility houses men over the age of 18 with first- and second-degree disabilities. The living conditions, medical care, food storage, and meal arrangements for residents with disabilities at this facility were inspected during the monitoring visit.
It should be noted that residents are provided with opportunities for social adaptation and vocational training based on their interests. Various activities aimed at developing their intellectual, physical, and creative skills are organized. As part of the visit to the Navoi region, monitoring visits were also carried out at Correctional Colony No. 4 in Navoi city and Correctional Colony No. 5 in Kyzyltepa district.
During the monitoring, interviews with inmates were conducted, and the conditions of medical services, dormitories, canteens, libraries, short- and long-term visitation rooms, and workshop facilities were examined. The institutions have specialized workshops for sewing, carpentry, construction materials production, soft furniture making, IT literacy, and other vocational skills.
Based on the results of the monitoring visits, the Ombudsman will submit recommendations in the form of enforcement actions to the relevant ministries and agencies.
