To clarify the situation, the Ombudsman’s regional representative in Jizzakh visited the Temporary Detention Facility (TDF) of the Jizzakh City Department of Internal Affairs and the Sharof Rashidov District Medical Association. The representative met with O.Sh., the prisoner mentioned in the report, and assessed his health condition.

It was established that O.Sh. is accused under Article 210, Part 2 (b) of the Criminal Code and has been placed under the preventive measure of arrest, being held in custody at the Jizzakh City TDF since April 26, 2025.

Due to a history of abdominal surgery and a diagnosis of stage II chronic kidney failure, and in accordance with medical recommendations, O.Sh. was transferred on April 30, 2025, at 16:20 to a specialized inpatient ward at the Sharof Rashidov District Medical Association for further treatment.

The Ombudsman places special emphasis on ensuring the protection of prisoners’ rights to healthcare during regular monitoring activities.
