Labor issues of medical workers in Koson District resolved
Despite multiple appeals over the past two years, labor rights issues faced by laboratory workers of the Koson District Medical Association in Kashkadarya region had not been resolved at the local level.

In March 2024, for the first time, 32 medical workers appealed to the Authorized Person of the Oliy Majlis for Human Rights (Ombudsman), complaining that they were being forced to terminate their employment contracts voluntarily and were not receiving salaries due to the mandatory transfer of laboratory services to a private entity under a public-private partnership. Upon receiving the appeal, the Ombudsman took it under special supervision. A working group led by the Ombudsman's regional representative in Kashkadarya region was formed, and the situation was investigated on-site. As a result, a medical council was convened, and it was clarified to the employees that they would be hired by the private company “Murod Med Star” while maintaining their positions and specialties, effectively resolving the issue.

However, after a year, in March 2025, the same employees again appealed to the Ombudsman, this time complaining that their salaries were being delayed and that the 15% salary supplement mandated by a Presidential Decree effective from October 1, 2024, had not been paid.

Following the Ombudsman's supervision and review, on March 24, 2025, another medical council meeting was held. It was announced that, based on instructions from the Ministry of Health, outsourcing services were being terminated, and the employees would be temporarily financed from the state budget. Additionally, it was confirmed that salaries for January, February, and March 2025, along with the 15% salary supplement, would be paid.
