Members of the Independent commission monitor all trials in the criminal case

As is known, on 6 February this year, a public trial began at the Bukhara Regional Court building in the criminal case against 39 defendants accused of committing mass riots in the city of Nukus on 1 and 2 July 2022.

During the trial, the public prosecutor read out the indictment and took statements from the defendants, civil plaintiffs and victims. Witnesses are currently being questioned in person and via videoconference.

We inform you that members of the commission to investigate the circumstances and events that occurred in the Republic of Karakalpakstan, take part in all court hearings on this case.

According to the information received, all judicial processes are carried out in accordance with the requirements established by law.

The next court session will take place on February 20, 2023.
