During the dialogue, the guests were informed about the ongoing human rights reforms in the country, as well as about the activities of the Authorized Person for consideration of appeals and prevention of torture.

During the conversation, the head of the Finnish delegation, Maria Livala, noted that Uzbekistan is one of the important partners for the exchange of experience in the field of human rights for Finland. She also stressed the importance of establishing close cooperation between the ombudsman institutions of Uzbekistan and Finland.

The issues of continuous improvement of the legal status of the institution of the the Authorized Person of the Oliy Majlis for Human Rights (Ombudsman) over the past years, expansion of its activities and powers, provision of new effective measures to ensure human rights were also discussed.
