As you know, in 2021, the Ombudsman institution was awarded “B” status by the Global Alliance of National Human Rights Institutions. During the meeting, the parties exchanged views on the achievement by the Institute of the Authorized Person of the highest status "A". The reforms carried out in Uzbekistan on the principle of enhancing human dignity have also received recognition.

During the conversation, the parties discussed issues of further expansion of cooperation between the institution of the Authorized Person of the Oliy Majlis for Human Rights and civil society institutions, the implementation of public control, including effective interaction with them in ensuring the rights of persons with disabilities.

During the meeting, information was provided on the new version of the draft law “On the Authorized Person of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Human Rights (Ombudsman)” and areas for further cooperation were identified.
